Gussanita on Music.

Wait, What?
Isn't Gussanita completely tone deaf????
Oh yes am! But this isn't exactly a music review.....

I know I wasn't supposed to cover music, but after 5 very long hours on a bus from New York City to Boston with nothing but my iPod, lyrics became my thoughts and music became my heart beat.

The hours grew longer and my skills for self entertainment got weaker. I tried everything, counting road sins, reading magazines, I even watched a movie.

Then, 2.5 hrs into the trip and after several failed attempts to sleep later, I decided to try one of those facebook chain-letter thingys, my bad, 'tagged notes'.

For those of you not very familiar with a tagged note, it goes something like this: Someone writes a note with a series of steps, and 'tags' a few friends to do these steps. There was a very common note circulating the facebook world, that had a whole lot of questions and you answered them by shuffling songs on your iPod. The results were...entertaining.

SinceI have no internet access on this darn bur to view the questions my iPod had to answer, I created put my own spin on things. I decided to make a list of my friends, shuffle the songs and see what would happen. Not content with just a funny disjointed song title, I forced myself to relate the nonsensical song to my friend. And damm it, was I determined!!

Right here right now:

The ladies that make the horrid New England winters bearable:

Mrs DeLuca:
Man on the Moon
- REM
This is too funny...my dear friend is a total space cadet!
Sometimes I think she may actually live on the moon

MinyMissy:
Lamento - Sergio Mendes

I'm not sure what to make of this...
The only obvious relation is that they are both Brazilian.
By this song, one would think Mini has been doing a lot of complaining and lamenting lately.

Bianx:
What do you think about... - Saint Germain

My gossip soul-mate!
I guess the title is very fitting.

Tins:
Bruised but not broken - Joss Stone

Truly the strongest, and tallest, of the group!
I was kinda hoping for a food reference
she is a chef after all

To the faithfully departed

My former partners in crime:

La China
:
Spinnign Around - Kyle Minogue
The best clubbing partner EVER!!!
College days were a blast thanks to thins one
wait, wasn't I supposed to be studying?
oops!

Jules:
Perfect - Alanis Morrisette

Little Miss Perfect, indeed.
All I can think of is going back to 1999
She was sitting very stoically
in a pink twin-set with a pearl necklace
No one could foresee her infectious laugh!

Ruthie:
Gracias a la vida - Mercedes Sosa

I can only think of her little girl.
the cutest baby ever!
I guess she does have loads to be gratefull for

TamTams:
Blood Sugar Sex Magic - RHCP

Need I say more?
Tams serior year is one for the books
More decadence than the Roman Empire!

Zoomer
:
Se me olvido otra vez - Mana

This is truly truly Zooms
Not necessarily the forgetful one,
but her ADHD certainly makes for one amusing friend!

Well what do you know, I thought this post would turn out hilarious as I tried to fit my friends into songs...
In turn I ended up reminiscing, and reminding myself of what makes my friends the greatest friends.
Not really a music post after all, was it?
Misleading titles to reel you in?
Oh well, you can take it up with the Better Business Bureau for false advertising
:P

Good night!

Hello World....it's me Gussanitta

Welcome to my blog!
I will use this space to rant, vent and talk about all the things I hold dear.
What is that you say?
Well..the obvious. Food, Fashion, Green Living and, of course, TV!

Gussanita on FOOD
I'll give you my PoV on restaurants and recipes that I've tried, but here's the twist...I'm the pickiest eater you'll ever find. So if my review is not at all helpful, I'm at least aiming for entertaining.
Expect a lot of carbs, starch and zero to no meat. Not really a vegetarian...but that's another post.

Gussanita on FASHION
I looooooooove clothes! which woman doesn't! specially ridiculously expensive one! - which of course I can't afford. Utterly obsessed with bags and shoes...but can't walk in heels. Again, subject of another future post.

Gussanita on GREEN LIVING
As an environmental engineer - yes, you read correctly! ***geek alert*** I had to blog about my area of , ehem, expertise. I will try to post usefull links and comments about emerging green trends -- and try to keep it as entertaining as I can without sending you straight to bed.

Gussanitta on TV
Oh...where to start. I watch way too much TV. I will not be doing recaps or that sort of stuff, there's plenty of sites dedicated to that. what I will do, is probably send out a comment or two and give you good links that discuss the show better than I could ever do.

Oh...english is my second language...so please keep it in mind!

Till my next post!!
Guss
